🌱Connecting Roots & Regional Roads | Wolseley Tourism joins Ceres Tourism Members Excursion ☕

There is something special about stepping out from behind our desks and experiencing our neighboring towns through the eyes of a visitor. On 11 September 2026, the Wolseley Tourism team did just that, embarking on a joint Member Excursion with our friends at the Ceres Tourism Office. It was a day designed not just to talk about regional tourism, but to live it—fostering community, discovering shared stories, and strengthening the ties across the Witzenberg region.
🗺️A Morning Spent Exploring
Ox Wagon statue—a powerful monument capturing the deep history of travel, trade, and resilience in the valley. Standing beside it, looking out over the landscape, was a wonderful reminder of the long history of welcoming travelers to this corner of the Western Cape.
No trip to Ceres is complete without diving into its rich heritage, and our next stop was the Togryers Museum (Ceres Transport Museum). Walking through the exhibits gave us a newfound appreciation for the transport riders of old whose routes originally linked our communities.
Of course, some of the best ideas are born over a good cup of coffee. Throughout the morning, dedicated networking sessions gave everyone time to catch up, exchange ideas, and discuss how we can work together to make the Witzenberg region an even more seamless destination for travelers.
Highlights of the day included : Deja Brew Bistro, Riverside Lodge, Lemon Tree Cottage, Sawwelyf_coffee, Loxtonia Cider, Maudie Mark, Barn24 Gym, Togryers Museum
🌱Real Impact & Looking Ahead
What started as a day of exploration quickly turned into tangible growth. As a direct result of the excursion, Wolseley Tourism is onboarding new members, expanding our footprint and bringing fresh voices into our regional network.
Beyond the numbers, the true highlight was the synergy built between our two offices. By experiencing the strengths and unique charm of Ceres firsthand, we’re better equipped than ever to cross-promote our regional offerings, encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore further across both Wolseley and Ceres.
A heartfelt thank you to the Ceres Tourism Office for hosting us so warmly, and to all the members who joined us. Here’s to many more shared journeys down the road!
