Situated in one of the most magnificent wine locations in the world and gracefully tucked away on the banks of the Breede River on the R43 between Worcester and Ceres, lies Waboomsrivier Winery.
On this picturesque piece of land with breathtaking views of the Bainskloof Pass, generations of winemaking heritage have thrived since 1949. Waboomsrivier got its captivating name from the “wabome” (wagon trees or Protea nitida) that grow abundantly in the Breedekloof, whose strong timber was historically used by settlers to manufacture wagon wheels.
Their wine philosophy is simple: harness our divergent terroir and use only the best grapes possible to create fresh, fruity wines the way nature intended. While serving as the backbone for many renowned local and international brands, they also produce a select bottled range—featuring crisp and fruity whites, oak-matured reds, and rich dessert wines. Visit our cellar door to taste their collections and experience authentic local hospitality.
